Charlie Ahearn Loves Fantasy A Gets a mattress!

Holy cow!! Our chief influence, Charlie Ahearn, came to the NYC premiere of Fantasy A Gets a Mattress! This is a dream come true! He gave us the ultimate compliment of calling the film fun and full of beautiful color and praising the high quality of our sound design!

Have you ever felt a movie so deep in your bones you could almost swear you lived it? That’s Wild Style! It’s a movie with no trees, which was one of the main filming rules on Fantasy A Gets a Mattress: avoid filming any trees! Charlie Ahearn was filming in the bombed-out Bronx of the early eighties and we filmed in Seattle where there are fifteen trees per block—but we accepted the challenge.

Fantasy A Gets a Mattress and Wild Style are two films about artistic struggle in hostile environments. Wild Style is about the roots of Hip Hop and Fantasy A Gets a Mattress is about its weird state today.
